Delicious food. My kids and I absolutely love eating here. The food is consistently great and the costumer service has been wonderful the past few times I've gone. It does take a few minutes for drive though food to be made. I usually have to pull around front and wait but I don't mind considering the food quality. One of our favorite restaurants in Newton
Dixie's Fish and Chicken made me a happily surprised lady yesterday! I've seen this restaurant in Troutman, but have never tried it, so when I found one in Newton, I decided to give it a go. So glad I did! It was so easy to order, I did it through the yelp app, paid with my CC online and went through the drive through for pick up. So easy and virtually contactless. They got my order 100% correct and included condiments, napkins and flatware without my having to ask. The food was really good. I had the London Style Fish and Chips, but subbed the fried squash for the french fries. It was a LOT of fried food, but really good. The fish was a tiny bit fishy smelling (not the fish itself, but the aroma of the take out box in the bag. It was good, but the batter could have used a few more minutes in the fryer since it was gummy in places. The squash was cut on a bias so that it had a bigger surface area exposed to the breading for maximum crispiness and flavor. So darned good! My favorite item on my plate though was the cole slaw! And I am not a big lover of cole slaw, but this was fresh and sweet like Chick fil a's used to be! I'd go back to get that cole slaw for my next family gathering it was so good! If you haven't tried them, make sure you do. I will definitely be back.
Had the Calabash Shrimp and Baby Flounder combo. So much food in the basket for around $10. Everything tasted fresh and the service was pretty decent for a busy Saturday night. Inside was very clean and the staff was friendly as well. Definitely will be going back again!
